Dear Friends,Thank you for allowing me to represent you in the House of Delegates. As I walk through the halls of the Capitol and sit in the chamber of the House of Delegates, I am awe struck by the history and humbled the responsibility that the citizens of the 83rd district have allowed me to shoulder. I will never forget that I am here to represent you.
I know that jobs and the economy are the most important issues facing families in Virginia Beach. It is not just about unemployment, but also about underemployment. Some folks are employed, but their companies can no longer afford to pay them full time. Those people can no longer work the hours necessary to support themselves and their families. Others have suffered a loss of benefits. These are challenging times. Families are feeling a lot of economic stress. But as difficult as our current situation is in this country, I have no doubt that with strong leadership and the right policies, we can get back on track. I truly believe the best days of Virginia and this nation lie ahead.
To address issues of jobs and the economy, I will work to create a jobs friendly environment, which means lower taxes, protecting Virginia as a Right-to-Work state, and saying YES to new solutions for education, energy independence, transportation, and access to affordable healthcare for all Virginians.
I am a practicing physician, and will be an advocate for placing the patient at the center of the healthcare debate. I am a 24-year navy veteran, with two children who are currently serving on active duty. I will be a strong voice for veterans and military families in the House of Delegates. As a former nuclear engineer, I have a strong energy background that will allow me to help lead the discussion on the development of renewable and traditional energy sources in Virginia Beach.
All five of my children have graduated from Virginia Beach public schools. I consider our public schools to be key to our children’s future success. We must support and defend our schools and our teachers.
Delegates must vote on a number of diverse issues. I believe that a broad and diverse professional career is essential to appropriately represent the needs of the district. I am very familiar with the difficult challenges that people are facing every day, and I pledge that I will use my experience in business, in medicine, in energy, and in the military to improve the economy, and create jobs for the families of Virginia Beach.
Please feel free to contact me at anytime. My contact information, including my phone number, is listed on the link above.
Thank you,
